While Stile Antico was in the Northeast this March for their concert at Newcastle Cathedral (and 'Reasons to Sing' Family Concert), some of their members were able to make the time to hold a free workshop for students and young people at Northumbria University on small ensemble singing.
The workshop included physical and vocal warm-ups and rounds and introduced participants to choral music by Renaissance composers such as Tallis, Byrd, and Palestrina. Dr Katherine Butler from Northumbria University provided some brief introductions to the history and music of the Renaissance period as well. A great day was had by all!
