Carrying on the celebrations! Over the next week, Corvus Consort will tour its programme, Byrd Takes Flight, curated for the #Byrd2023 anniversary year.
The programme includes Byrd’s most famous vocal works, alongside new commissions from some of the top young composers in the UK in response to Byrd’s music. It also incorporates improvisation from flute & saxophone duo Music on the Edge—think the Hillard Ensemble’s Officium disc! Here's a little video introduction:
Starting on Friday, the tour takes them to London, Oxford, Truro, Bristol and includes an already SOLD-OUT performance at the Three Choirs Festival.
They’ll also be on BBC Radio 3 InTune tomorrow (Thursday 25 July) at 5pm, so you can hear a preview of what to expect.
