A short share. This photo was taken on the bank of the River Trent in Newark, where Robert Parsons drowned in 1572. Parsons' untimely fate made space, however, for William Byrd to take up his spot in the Chapel Royal.


As Kerry commented, 'Looks like the life preserver ring didn’t do its job....'
